Forth Rivers Consulting is a CIEEM Registered Practise providing expert, cost-effective ecological advice across industries. Backed by the Forth Rivers Trust’s decades of habitat restoration and community engagement, we help clients deliver projects that protect rivers, meet regulations, and avoid costly delays.

We offer a wide range of ecological services, working in partnership with clients, contractors, and regulators to minimise environmental impacts and promote best practice.

Our clients include Scottish Water, Scottish Canals, SPEN, LPAs, and leading contractors. If you’re planning a water-related project, we’ll guide you through the process with expertise, compliance, and confidence.

  • Ecology

    Our dedicated and experienced team of ecologists provide a full range of services, from early engagement and feasibility advice to habitat and protected species surveys, licensing support, ecological mitigation, monitoring, and long-term management planning.

  • Habitat assessment and restoration

    Our connection to Forth Rivers Trust allows us to draw on several years of experience in peatland and river restoration from weir removals to habitat enhancement. We assist with early concept design through to actively undertaking groundworks and assisting contractors in their delivery.

  • Geospatial services GIS and mapping

    We are able to utilise the expertise of the Forth Rivers Trust’s GIS specialist to undertake drone surveys, mapping, data creation and analysis, and to use GIS to find creative solutions for our clients.

  • Advisory services

    Forth Rivers Consulting provides a complete suite of services to support clients from all aspects of the industrial, development, utilities and environmental sectors. These services are delivered by a highly trained and experienced team with backgrounds in consultancy, academia and conservation.
